Open the file when it finishes
Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap it, or find it in your
Files app under Downloads.

Allow it to install
If you see not allowed to install unknown apps, tap
Settings, switch on
Allow from this source, then press Back.

Tap "Install anyway"
A screen may say Unsafe app blocked. Tap
More details, then
Install anyway. This appears for every app installed
outside the Play Store — it isn't a warning about this app.

Open it and make an account
Use your email and pick a password (8+ characters, one capital, one number).
Check your email for a confirmation link and tap it — that link signs you in.

Post one thing you'd trade
Eggs, seedlings, tools, hay, honey, a skill. This is the whole point — a map
with things on it is what makes it worth other people's time.
Samsung phone? One extra step.
If nothing happens when you tap Install, go to Settings → Security and privacy →
Auto Blocker and switch it off. Samsung blocks these installs silently with
no error. You can switch it back on afterwards.
Questions people ask
Why all the scary warnings?
Because the app isn't in the Google Play Store yet. Android shows the same warnings
for every app installed directly, regardless of what it is. It's not a virus alert.
Does it cost anything?
No. No fees, no payments in the app at all — it's for trading and bartering, not selling.
Will people see where I live?
Not unless you decide to show them. The map only ever shows a rough area for your
listings, never your address. If you agree to a trade, you choose where to
meet — your place, or somewhere public. Pick a public spot and your exact location
is never revealed. Nobody can request it, and nobody but that one person ever sees
it.
It says "App not installed."
You likely have an older copy. Uninstall Homestead first, then install again.
